Chuck Riley has a
plan
Forest Grove News-Times (10/6/04)
I support Chuck Riley for the state senate because he is a man of
integrity and a man dedicated to public service. I’ve worked with
Chuck the last four years in an attempt to make Western Washington
County a better place to live.
Chuck cares deeply and has a real plan for the issues that are so
important to Oregonians: health care for all Oregonians, economic
recover/jobs creation and supporting our children’s schools.
Chuck plans, if elected, to have monthly town hall meetings and be
totally accessible to the voters. This is in contrast to his opponent,
Mary Gallegos, who refused to meet with myself and 20 other people
last fall when we went to Salem.
Chuck doesn’t care if you are Republican or Democrat, Libertarian or
Green, he’ll listen to you.
Please vote for Chuck Riley.
Alana Graham, Forest Grove
"A Republican for Chuck Riley"
Oregonian Letter to the
Editor (9/23/04)
Chuck Riley, the
Democratic candidate for House District 29 (Forest Grove, Cornelius
and Hillsboro), is for changing the status quo in Salem and leaving me
to make decisions regarding my personal life. I am a Republican
for Riley.
My neighbors and I
are concerned about public education. When and how will the government
fund the mandates they pass down? We have gone from locally controlled
schools to state-controlled. Accepting that fact, we have to attempt
to make the best of the situation. Chuck Riley is proposing school
reform with goals such as statewide pooling of the purchase of teacher
health care benefits. The projected savings: $150 million per year.
This brings an immediate fix to just one of our funding problems. Our
teachers deserve decent benefits at a reasonable cost.
SALLY B. EDDY
Forest Grove
Special Note:
Sally is one of the 312 Republicans in
District 29 who are supporting Chuck Riley! The race was decided by
only 434 votes in 2002.
